TOTECUE / QUICK ANSWERS
A little less uncertainty.
Straight answers about the workflow, your team and getting started.
How are older and Express orders prioritized?
Recommended lists put selected priority shipping methods first when enabled, then use oldest-first ordering within each group. A packing target highlights orders that have waited too long. Workers can still choose other ready work.
Will ToteCue add time to my workflow?
The design goal is to simplify the work, not increase the time per order. Focused order navigation helps workers find ready work and the next step without the wider detail of Shopify’s order screen. Photo and label requirements are configurable; the actual effect on your workflow depends on your settings and operation.
Can a small or large business use ToteCue?
ToteCue is designed for small and large businesses, low order quantities and busier dispatch work. One worker can pick and pack, or multiple workers can share the work. Capacity and timing depend on your operation and remain subject to testing. Public availability remains pending.
Can picking and packing be done by different people?
Yes. One person can pick and pack an order, or a picker can hand the tote to a packer. ToteCue keeps picking and packing as distinct verification stages.
Do I need a new bin QR label for every order?
No. The QR identifies the bin and stays attached. After the current work is complete and the bin is released, pair it with another order and reuse the same label.
When can a packing photo be required?
Choose Off, Optional, Required or Use rules. Rules can require a photo at or above a physical-item quantity threshold or package merchandise-value threshold. Either enabled threshold can trigger the requirement; an explicit saved-reason override is tracked when used.
What does shipping-label matching check?
When enabled, ToteCue compares tracking from a supported label with the order. You can require a match before completion. A tracking match is not independent proof of the correct address or carrier acceptance.
Can I track products loaned for marketing?
Yes. Product Loans tracks recipients, items, due dates, outstanding quantities and returns for temporary marketing or other product loans. Loan shipping labels are recorded references rather than sales-order matches.
Can I scan in a return and photograph its condition?
Yes. Supported tracking can identify return candidates; exact order or return-number lookup is also available. Receive and inspect the package, then add condition photos when enabled. Lookup does not replace inspection or confirm a refund.
Is ToteCue available to install?
ToteCue is in early testing with practice orders. Public installation is not open yet. Invited testers receive access separately; real-store use must be arranged before using customer orders. Contact MARLogic Apps about future access. Pricing has not been announced.
Do my products need barcodes?
No. ToteCue uses QR labels on reusable totes and a visual product guide. Product barcodes are not required for the core picking workflow.
What equipment does my team need?
Reusable totes or bins, printed QR labels, and an enrolled phone or tablet with a camera. Print and scan one test label before labeling your full set of totes.
Does every worker need a Shopify staff account?
Workers use ToteCue worker profiles and enrolled devices. They do not need separate Shopify staff accounts for the worker workflow. Administrators open ToteCue through Shopify Admin.
Does ToteCue issue refunds or correct inventory?
ToteCue supports operational follow-up, but refunds and inventory corrections are performed in Shopify. After making a correction, return to ToteCue to check and finish the related follow-up.
Can a refund appear as a customer return?
A refund alone does not create a Shopify return. Update Customer returns from Shopify to bring in return requests, then receive and inspect the arriving packages in the worker app.
Can I update guides without updating the app?
Yes. Guides are published on this website. Website updates can change the instructions while the app keeps linking to the same guide address.
Where should I go if the app is unavailable?
Use your store’s normal Shopify fulfillment process while awaiting assistance. Email support with the workflow, approximate time and any non-sensitive error code.
