STORE OWNER GUIDE / FIRST EDITION

Prepare labels and worker devices

In this guide

Print a readable permanent bin label and register the browser workers will use.

Before you start

A store administrator needs Bins & labels and Team & devices access. Have matching paper, a printer and the intended phone or tablet ready. Use practice orders for testing.

One permanent QR, many orders

New order. Same bin QR.Release the bin after the current work, then pair it with the next order.

Workflow illustration, not an app screenshot.

The QR belongs to the bin and remains attached when it is reused after release. Bin labels identify a workspace container; shipping labels identify a parcel’s tracking reference.

  1. Open Bins & labels.
  2. Enter the number of new bins, from 1 to 100, and check suggested names.
  3. Choose Create bins & prepare labels.
  4. Select the label format, choose Print these new labels, and print on matching paper at actual size. Creating bins does not print them automatically.
  5. Scan one label with the worker device. Confirm the displayed bin name matches the printed label before preparing more.

Match the label to your paper

Formats include Letter/A4, 2 × 4 inch sticker sheets, 4 × 6 inch shipping labels and 62 mm square labels. Disable browser headers and footers and check the preview against your paper.

Automatic names run A1 through Z1, then A2 onward. New batches continue after the highest existing numbered bin, including retired bins.

Replace a damaged label

Find and select the existing bin, then choose Print selected labels, or open its name and choose Print label. Creating a new bin creates a different identity. Keep the replacement flat, clean and securely attached without covering the QR.

Enroll a phone or tablet

  1. An administrator opens Team & devices → Add worker.
  2. Enter a unique Worker name and a 4–12 digit Worker PIN. Choose needed permissions and Save worker.
  3. Open Enroll device, enter a unique Device name and choose Create enrollment.
  4. Scan the enrollment QR with the intended device. Open its one-time link in the browser workers will use.
  5. Choose Set up this device.
  6. At Choose worker, select the worker, enter their PIN and choose Start work.

You are done when the device reports it is enrolled and the worker can open their workspace. Each person uses their own PIN, even on a shared device. Keep enrollment links and PINs private. Use the same browser and avoid private browsing. A different browser or cleared browser data may need setup again.

If printing or sign-in fails

  • Wrong size or cut-off label: match the format to your paper and print at actual size. Test one sheet.
  • Blurred QR: reprint clearly and keep it flat and evenly lit.
  • Camera blocked: allow camera access in that browser’s site permissions and retry. If scanning is unavailable, use the displayed non-camera choice where offered or ask the administrator for help.
  • Expired enrollment link: ask the administrator for fresh enrollment on the intended device.
  • PIN rejected or needed: check the selected name. After several failed attempts, wait five minutes or ask the administrator for help; do not use another worker’s login.

In Bins & labels → Wall signs — open ToteCue, choose Letter or A4 and print the worker or administrator sign. Each uses one page.

A wall sign opens the app; it does not grant access. Workers still sign in and administrators need authorized Shopify staff access. Reprint signs if the app address or Shopify app identity changes.

Continue with first-order setup or Picking & packing. Contact support if setup cannot complete.
